Introducing Betsy Barry, creating artwork for 30 years

While her creative journey has explored various mediums, including acrylic, watercolor, oil, and fiber, Betsy's heart has ultimately gravitated towards colored pencil and graphite. Whether delicately layering hues or crafting precise lines in colored pencil, Betsy's focus remains on capturing the very essence of her subject matter.

Betsy's approach involves rendering her subjects from life, often on location. This hands-on methodology allows her to intimately connect with her botanical and natural subjects, resulting in artworks that capture the essence of the living world.

Notably, Betsy holds the designation of SBA Fellow from the Society of Botanical Artists, UK. She also teaches classes through the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History in New Haven Ct., as well as at The Lyme Art Association in her hometown of Old Lyme, Ct.

Beyond the drawing board, Betsy's artistic vision extends into products  for the home. She has created a line of products designed to bring the beauty of nature into daily life. From charming tea towels and exquisite notecards to tasteful napkins and stationery, each piece reflects Betsy's dedication to infusing our living spaces with beautiful things.

In a world where technology often distances us from the living, growing things around us, Betsy Barry's art beckons viewers to pause, appreciate, and reconnect with the natural beauty that surrounds us every day.
