Welcome! My name is Betsy Barry

In a world where technology often distances us from the living, growing things around us, I strive to have my art call viewers to pause, appreciate, and reconnect with the natural beauty that surrounds us every day.

My earliest artistic days had me working first with graphite, and ultimately gravitating towards COLORED PENCIL . This is where my heart remains and how I choose to focus on capturing my subject matter on paper.

My approach involves rendering subjects from life, often on location. This hands-on methodology allows me to intimately connect with my botanical and natural subjects, resulting in artworks that capture the essence of the living world.

Notably, I hold the designation of SBA Fellow from the Society of Botanical Artists, UK. I teach classes in graphite and colored pencil through the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven CT as well as at The Lyme Art Association in my hometown of Old Lyme. I also offer private instruction on-line and in person.

Beyond the drawing board, my artistic vision extends into products for the home.

I created a line of products designed to bring the beauty of nature into daily life. From tea towels and notecards to napkins and stationery, each piece reflects my dedication to infusing our living spaces with beautiful things. I love to partner with boutique gift shops to offer these products.

Please enjoy my website and feel free to reach out if you would like to connect!
