Colored Pencil

I love working with colored pencil and consider it my main medium, with my love of fiber and watercolor a close second! These examples of my artwork are created entirely of artist grade colored pencil on hot pressed watercolor or other smooth surface paper. Creating drawings in colored pencil or graphite is the starting point of all of my projects!

Botanical Drawing

Creating realistic drawings in colored pencil and enhancing with shadows is one technique I enjoy!

Ocean Subjects

Living on the Connecticut shoreline affords me access to some beautiful beaches!  I am so inspired by all of the sea treasures I find on walks by the ocean!  This original piece took a long time as I collected the bits and pieces over the course of a summer. "Collected" is sold now but will always hold a place in my top favorites!

Botanical Illustration

Plants and flowers from my garden are a huge source of inspiration for my drawings. Keeping a strict 'no cast shadows' on my drawings is in keeping with botanical illustration guidelines.

Fruits & Vegetables

Other wonderful subjects to draw are fruits and veg! Any time I am at a loss for the next subject to draw, I peruse the produce isles or the farmers markets where I am sure to be inspired!
